Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It will be a great pleasure to host you at the 5th Conference on Materials Science and Condensed Matter Physics MSCMP 2010 and at the Symposium in Memoriam of Acad. Boris LAZARENKO (1910-1979) ″Electrical Methods of Materials Treatment″. Both events will be held in the Conference Halls of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, in Chisinau, the Republic of Moldova, on September 13 - 17, 2010.

MSCMP 2010 is the fifth international conference in Chisinau on materials science and condensed matter physics, and on the associated concepts and technologies.

The Symposium will be an occasion to commemorate academician Boris LAZARENKO (1910-1979), the first director of the Institute and an author of the method called Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM).

Both events will be an opportunity for the international community to exchange ideas, to draw plans for future joint work, to discuss research results and application innovations, as well as the most recent technology developments, to contribute to the sustainable development of our countries.

We would like to encourage all scientists and engineers who work in academia and industry to take part in the Conference and the Symposium, stimulating interdisciplinary research and creating an environment where new advancements can be made. The organizers will do their best to create the most encouraging environment during the events where further discussions and collaborations can flourish.

The Conference & the Symposium will consist of invited plenary presentations, oral and poster sessions.

The organizers have been working to make these international events a really efficient and enjoyable experience for all participants. We hope you will join us in making these international events a success.
